    I Want My Ex Back

    Evan from New York Writes:

Ten years ago I met a really great person.  I was very young at the time and really didn't take the relationship seriously.  After a few years we went our separate ways.  Lately I have come into contact with this person again and can't help think that I should try and reconnect with them.  We both are single and I think this time around I can handle this situation much better.  What do you think?

    MR. GOODADVICE RESPONDS:

Leave the past alone.  If it was meant to be it would have happened the first time around,  so there is no need to try and resurrect the dead.  Nothing good ever comes back from the dead.  You have seen all those zombie movies haven't you?

It seems as we get older we tend to realize that time is running out on finding that perfect mate.  This can often make us look backwards instead of forwards.  Ten years may have past but that doesn't mean that all of the things that were bad in your relationship have been forgotten.  All of that baggage would be difficult to get rid of and no doubt would lead to heartache once again.

Get back to the business of looking for a new date.  After all there is nothing as good as new love.
