    Bad News...But I Love Them!

    Jasmine writes:

So this guy that I haven't seen in ages started talking to me again. It has been nice talking to him again but he is having alot of problems. He has been very upset so I asked him about what was going on.

First, his girlfriend cheated on him and dumped him. Then she got dumped and came back and he got her pregnant and he dumped her. Next his mom passed away and a close friend of his commited suicide. Finally he got jumped by his cousin's friends and he hit defended himself with with a baseball bat. As a result of beating these guys he got charged for attempted murder!

He even totalled his car and he lost his license. He's been going through SO much and I really want to help him out but i dont know what to say to him. Any ideas?

    MR. GOODADVICE RESPONDS:

This guy is not worth your time and energy. He is nothing but bad news and the only thing you should be saying to him is "goodbye and good luck".

What are you looking for here? I hope that you understand that there is nothing you can do for your friend. It appears he has made some bad choices in life. I am not saying that all of his problems are a result of his behavior, but certainly some of them are and he now has to deal with the consequences. I am more concerned with making you understand the situation so that you make the right choices for your life.

Life is hard. You need to surround yourself with people who take you up in life, not drag you down. This person is dead weight and you don't need to carry that on your shoulders.

You can have compassion and you can be supportive, but keep your distance. There is nothing good that can come out of this for you.
